Ahoy Seafarers

Our Seafarers rooms are light and spacious with areas where our children can actively direct their own learning. Seafarers I has the benefit of access to our Garden, bringing the great outdoors in and further enriching the learning experience.

We believe in the value of ‘free flow’ and learning through play for our three to five year olds. Resources have been carefully chosen to capture imagination and inspire questioning. We expect and encourage our Seafarers to talk, discuss and ask the all important ‘why?’. Time spent in the Seafarers STEM room and The Cubby Hole, also allow our children to learn in unexplored  and exciting ways.

New Horizons

Our knowledgable practitioners recognise the importance of gently preparing our Seafarers for the next stage in their journey. Independence is positively promoted and emotional literacy and circle times form a valuable part of Seafarers day. As our children get closer to starting school, each is supported with an individual transition that suits their needs and ensures they leave us confident learners who recognise their own potential.

Rest Times

Rest Times

We follow home sleep routines in addition to supporting our children to sleep and rest at a time that is right for them. Whether it’s stretching out on a rest mat for a snooze or snuggling up in a relaxing cosy corner, our day always has opportunities for some quiet time.

Focused Activities

Focused Activities

Learning is child-centered, with the aim to acquire new knowledge and foster curiosities in topics our children are interested in. Exploring communication, numeracy and science are amongst the structured learning experiences used to engage Seafarers.

Child Initiated Learning

Child Initiated Learning

Our learning environments have been designed to motivate Seafarers to take risks and challenge their own paths in learning. They are encouraged to independently investigate, persevere and problem-solve.

Outdoor Learning

Outdoor Learning

Our garden has been designed with imagination, inventiveness and exploration at it’s core. It provides the perfect backdrop for discovery play, Forest-school inspired learning and getting crafty in the tool shed.
